Contrary to popular belief, no birds are sold here*

Birds is a Derbyshire classic, everyone from round these parts knows Birds, and has probably, like me, been in an eternal struggle between the saus rolls from Birds vs the saus rolls from Greggs. From what I've gathered over my many many years (I turned 30 last week at the time of writing this, peace out twenties ✌️) their pork pies are a big dealio around Christmas time.

For me, I remember the one on the marketplace in Derby more than the others. It used to have a cafe that was okay and wasn't too far from college. This one in Ashbourne is set in the old Gingerbread shop, which is a mega old building, not sure whether you can still get the old local gingerbread here, but if you can, that's pretty cool.

* They do sell chicken sandwiches, and I think maybe chicken slices? So... no alive birds are sold here?
